When choosing blow molding raw materials, manufacturers shall screen resins systematically according to operating conditions, product functions and processing conditions.
First, clarify service environment indicators including operating temperature, contact medium, mechanical load and anti-aging demands. HDPE is preferred for chemical tanks and water storage liners owing to balanced rigidity and impact resistance. PP stands out for high-temperature scenarios such as heat-resistant packaging, while its low-temperature fragility should be taken into account. PET is selected for transparent packaging relying on prominent gas barrier and surface gloss. LDPE can be adopted if good flexibility is required.
Second, match material processing performance with blow molding equipment. The melt flow rate, melting point and thermal stability of resins must fit the extrusion, temperature control and cooling capacity of blow molding machines. PET requires precise and stable temperature control during forming, while PE features wider processing temperature tolerance and lower difficulty in production.
Third, consider comprehensive factors such as production cost, recyclability and market compliance standards. After integrating end-use requirements, processing adaptability and economic benefits, enterprises can confirm the optimal blow molding material.
